The Giant's Lair
The Giant's Lair
June-July 2019
Collaboratively built by Fay Burnett, Josh Pritchard & John Palser.
Amphitheatre space crafted from the surrounding fallen Spruce. We planked the trees in situ, and harvested the willow 20 metres away.
The space is a haven, quietly in the woods. A space to host performance, to take a quiet moment, to be with the woodland. It is a space for creation. We hosted performances here during our performance and arts event Coed Roots & Legends, 2019.
The Giant Steps
Up which the Spider and the Bramble Wizard climb, and sit in the late afternoon sharing the day's tales, and on which the audience sit to watch the performances.
The Giant's Chair
Woven willow, Spruce, sitting on a live brash pile - the home of birds & bees of the forest
The Spider Web
Created for The Spider's performance, another resident of this space. See 'The Spider' heading under 2019, for documentation of performance.
Willow Bench
Woven Willow, planked Spruce, constructed onto the lying trunk we found already there.
