Coed Roots & Legends

A performance and arts festival curated by Fay Burnett & Gemini Anderson

31st July 2019

at Coed Hills Rural Art Space, South Wales

Featuring 40+ artists and hosting 100+ guests, at 10 different site specific locations throughout the forest garden, woods to the stone circle. Sustainability at spearhead, artists created Eco art, and performances leaving no physical trace. We spanned spoken word, physical theatre, FLUXUS scores, performance art and live music. Themed around Storytelling, the festival sprung from revisiting the unique history that makes the community of Coed Hills as we know it today, we explored personal stories and histories which inform the ways we interpret reality and frame the sense of self. Featuring Um Mohamed exploring her Somali heritage, seeing Primordial Soup a collective of 12 perform a musical attracted to the temporary godhood, to Tom Kirby proclaiming Medieval poetry in the Stone Circle, with a visit from the Extinction Rebellion Cardiff boat too...
