‘Mapping’ the space

 

Walk from one wall to the other, repeat, repeat, repeat. 

Then jump, fall, run - hands along the wall,

drum on the wall,

and short sharp steps,

and slow long steps.

Rotating my arms and dancing through space.

An improvised piece guided by my own improvisation and the spontaneous intervention of the visitors, to discover more about the space itself and my relationship with it. 

 

In effort to understand the space without my sense of vision. I found my perception and comfort with the space changed as I oscillated through states of confidence, dominance, loneliness, fear and vulnerability. I tested the boundaries between me as the performer and an audience through presenting my vulnerable - blindfolded and nude - self.
